The Vida Coach Pathway

Vida Tennis has a pathway for each coach which we tailored to the individuals needs. There are many reasons why people get started in the tennis industry and understanding the "why" is important in getting the best outcome for an individual.

Each coach with Vida is an employee (casual, part time or full time) and there is a progression pathway which is continually assessed. There are several options within the company;

  • Casual employee - hourly rate plus superannuation
  • Casual employee with a bonus program attached
  • Part-time employee (with bonus programs)
  • Full time employee (with bonus programs)
  • Work to own program

Coach pay rates are clearly defined in the employee contract which also highlights the progression process and bonus / incentive program roles. There are options to fit most coaches goals and vision. Weather you are a uni student looking for a part time job or a career coach looking for a long term plan, the options are there. As a coach progresses through their pathway they have the option to take on more responsibility, such as managing programs, venues or a school. Progressions are only limited to the attitude and desire of the coach with ownership of business units an option for the right people. There are many examples currently in the Vida team where a coach has been part of the "work to own" program and is now an owner of their business unit.

I have been with the Vida team for just over four years now since relocating to Melbourne from Darwin. The pathway for a career within the company was a very strong reason why I joined the team in the first place and it has enabled me to now be running one of the largest Tennis Club's in the north of Melbourne, the Essendon Tennis Club. It is great to be part of a team where we can bounce ideas off each other and continue to challenge each other and learn.

Ryan Palfrey

I loved my time in the Vida Team coaching the majority of the time at the Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club but also at a variety of other venues. After finishing year 12 tennis coaching gave me a great experience in the work force while I was studying law. The Vida team became like family and I felt like I learnt so much from all the team. The best part about working with Vida was that I felt valued and that I had the opportunity to grow in their environment. Tennis will stay part of my life forever.
